Happy Easter and Spring!!

First family pictures in our nice clothes since Laurie was born! Oh and I didn't notice the pen in Carlos' pocket until AFTER the pictures! (the older girls dresses are flower girl dresses from Rose-Marie's wedding)

Frame

It occurred to me today that I never put the picture up of the print Carlos had framed for me for Valentine's Day. Here it is!
And this was our Christmas present to ourselves! It is about 4 feet long.

And then there were two

Now I have two holes in my head. All of my wisdom is gone. Not that I had much to begin with but it is finished. It went well. They gave me a relaxing something the night before and morning of and then they numbed me, I felt a LOT of pressure, and they were out. No funny yucky sounds like I thought I would. But now I get to have a liquid diet for the next week...and the girls and Carlos are out getting pizza! *sigh*

Oh and I almost forgot some of the biggest news here at the Chacon household. Miriam has had a loose tooth for months now. When they did the dental work years ago, the roots of her tooth got damaged and they started to disolve just like teeth do when they are ready do come out, only these weren't supposed to get that way for another year or so. It is one of her baby molars.

Anyway, on Sunday I was called out of Relief Society because she was crying. Her cookie and knocked it to a point that it really hurt and it was bleeding and she was pretty freaked out! So I took her into the mother's room, tried to calm her down and tried explaining that we needed to take it out. She was very nervous about it, and wasn't so sure that was a good idea and what if my dentist is mad at me etc. I assured her that the dentist knew it would be coming out and that it was fine, and that it would only hurt for a bit and would bleed a little and then it would be all over... She finally agreed but was very nervous. So trying not to think about the fact that I was pulling her tooth, I reached in and yanked. It came out very quick with just a little bleeding and she was so relieved! Then she was excited to tell everyone about it. Now she is on the hole in smile club at school :). Her two front bottom are loose as well so that will be fun coming up! She is going to have a hole there for about a year before the tooth even begins to come in but... now it doesn't hurt her! :)

Baltimore

Well Carlos started a new job this week and so we knew we wouldn't get a spring break vacation. He took his last day of work off and we drove up Thursday night to DC and looked at the monuments. The key being the Lincoln Memorial, which the girls thought was great and we read part of his speech etc. Then the next morning we drove the rest of the way to Baltimore, checked into our hotel, got our free aquarium tickets and went to the National aquarium. We spent all day there, it was pretty fun. They had a 4D movie and a dolphin show that were extra and we decided to do the whole package. I think the girls would have rather NOT seen the film. It had water squirts in the face, vibrating chairs that also poked your back and tickled your legs at appropriate times throughout the film. It was fun but not for them. They wanted to get out of there. Elaine kept asking if we could go home. Laurie kept getting squirted in the face and Miriam just clung to Carlos with a sad look on her face. What made it worse was there was a group of teen girls who kept screaming at the top of their lungs every time something happened. THANKS A LOT!

So we enjoyed the many underwater creatures, none of which they allowed you to touch. That was a little disappointing. It would have been nice to have a 'petting pool' or something. Anyway, the girls were having a good time but kept asking when we were going to go back to the hotel. They wanted to spend time there! But we made them enjoy a day out. After, we ate dinner and walked around the pier for a while, it was nice. Until it started raining and then we went back to the hotel. It was a very full day! Including a complete blowout from Laurie at the aquarium. Luckily we were in the guest services room in private so there was no scene of us running to the bathroom and completely undressing our baby!! Unfortunately I don't know where my bags were and we had to wrap her clothes in paper towels! Oh well.

Next morning after a wonderful sleep on comfy beds with down comforters, we woke up and went to the hotel breakfast which was outstanding. Pretty much anything you can imagine for breakfast and some that I don't think I have ever had. Anyway, the hit of the morning was a coconut/mango smoothie that they called a 'shooter' because it was in a shot glass. I got some ingred. yesterday and we are going to make it at home! I am excited! Ok so after a long walk on the pier again that day, we drove home. BUT not before stopping at the Charm City Cakes! Home of Ace of Cakes!! We couldn't see much, just their building and sign. They had windows blacked out and could only get in with an appt. And sorry, we didn't need to pay a min of $500 for a cake! So anyway, the weekend was great! We got back in time for some friends to get baptised and get our house ready for the group of youth coming over on Sunday evening!

When we go again, you should come along! :)

I will put this link up so you can look at the pics yourself ;)

This is their princess room. We have the stickers placed in little arrangements around the room. It looks pretty cool!

ode

Ana's ode to a dentist was so fun that I thought of making my own and it just came to me...

Samoa girl scout cookie

you are so very sweet!

Samoa girl scout cookie,

you're all I want to eat!

My mouth waters at the thought

Just like my mother taught

I'd better eat you up

before my husband comes and wants to eat some!

(the end is a tribute to may dad who always ends his rhyming poems without a rhyme! :))

Roller Skating!!!! ****pics

I haven't been in so long! It was the first time for Miriam and Elaine. This was fun for us. The school had a special skate night at discounted prices and we decided to go as a family! Miriam was a bit nervous as usual but she did great and was so brave. Elaine thought she could do it by herself as usual and was trying to get out there on her own. She quickly realized that it was too slippery and needed help. They got tired quickly. We stayed longer than we wanted but it was fun to get out there.

getting on skates!
Oh I am so excited!
See Daddy, I can do it!

Miriam and friend Daisy
I got so hot!

sorry about my evil eyes ;)

There's a whole in (revisited)

my cheek. I had a lump taken out of my cheek today. They cut it out and put 3 stitches in. It is pretty sore, but I bet it isn't as sore as my mouth will be when I get my wisdom teeth taken out this month!! I am pretty anxious right now. As it stands now, I have to go in on two separate occasions to get one tooth pulled at a time. I am going to ask them to just do it at the same time. We will see what happens! :S I am pretty nervous! Sarah is going to come over to help me out when I get them pulled. She LOVES me! :)
** My mouth is pretty swollen, and has a bruise. It feels like a big bruise too. So not too bad. But it looks funny ;). I called and left a message with the dentist. They only like to numb one side of your mouth at a time, but I don't want to go in there and have them pull and push on my jaw twice!! If they won't do it, I might have to go somewhere else!

if you can't tell what side is swollen.... :)

I want a

Princess room! Elaine has been saying this for months now. We got them a princess garbage can when we moved in this house 2 years ago. For Christmas we got them a princess tiara lamp, then in Jan we got Elaine some princess sheets and Miriam tinker bell sheets. So...I thought that might be the end of it. But apparently that still didn't make it a princess room.... So, Daddy had an idea and I had just been thinking the same thing, so glad to be validated by him, we went to the store today and got a poster AND some of those GREAT wall stickers that easily remove etc. It looks FABULOUS and by golly she better not ever say she doesn't have a princess room!! Here are some stock pictures and I will take some of their room later and put them up.

Not thier room

Maybe later we will get the border but it looks great without it!
