Elaine's Birthday

Well Elaine turned 3 on the 20th! She is so great to have in our home! We love her very much! When we asked her what she wanted to eat for her birthday all she could think about was that she wanted balloons and presents! She got a bunch of both and was very happy! We had pancakes for breakfast (favorite), chicken nuggets and french fries for dinner (favorite), and cupcakes with frosting and lots of candy to decorate with. We had the Acosta's and Petersen's over to help eat cupcakes and celebrate. It was fun and I don't think I have eaten that much candy at once in a long time! It sure tasted good at the time though!

Mara took the pictures for us. The other kids were helping Elaine unwrap and it was cute to watch them all. Elaine had a good time and was happy with all of her gifts! She likes being able to say she is 3 now!

Cotton Candy!

I love Cotton Candy! Carlos decided a bit ago that he wanted to get a machine and try to be a vendor for different events and parties. We tried it for the first time on Thursday of last week. Stuff was flying everywhere in our kitchen but it was a ton of fun! I want more! Yummy!!

News for inquiring minds!

Well if you are keeping up with Ana's blog, you know that they were delivering the babies tonight. Well I have SOME info. I will tell you and if there is more or it turns out I was wrong a bit, I will correct it later. Here is what I know right now.
Abinadi was able to be with her during the delivery. The smaller boy is 1 lb 3 oz and is on a ventilator. The not smaller but still small boy is 3 lbs and is breathing on his own. Ana is as fine as she can be physically I hear. I ,as well as I am sure all of you, am glad that things are stable. Cindy (Mom) is trying her best to get here from Costa Rica. Hopefully she can be there as soon as tomorrow evening.
Well that is all I know...sorry...wish I knew more but I don't know what else there is to know at this point. All is calm as far as I know. Stay tuned I am sure they will post something as soon as they can!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARLOS!!

Last night we had a birthday party for Carlos and it was really nice. A lot of friends and some family were able to come. We talked, ate and the kids played for a long time at the park! It was great!! We had good food, my cake turned out very cute and all in all a busy but great time! The prep and wondering if there was enough food was a little stressful...But...it was worth it!

After all...you only turn 30 once!!
(sorry I will get pictures later!)

Not much-ok a bit! :)

Well I guess I don't have much exciting news to blog. I will just give you a bit of what is going on here.
Ana-Christine is feeling better in the hospital and things are looking up as to delivery of her babies. That is really good news. Logan came to stay with us for a few days. The girls had fun and wish she would come back! :)
Elder Holland came to our stake for conference! It was pretty neat to see him and hear him speak in person! He was very nice and had great words for us as a stake and family and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I got to shake his hand as did Carlos. Carlos sang a solo and Elder Holland complimented him when he shook his hand! He really did do well. What a blessing it was to have an apostle here and to hear him say that he IS a witness of Jesus Christ! He has a powerful testimony.
I had a Dr appt and everything is good with me. The heart rate is 153 so if anyone thinks the heart-rate suggests gender...what do you think it will be? I think it is a boy, but then again, I thought each time that I was having a boy but in the back of my mind, always knew it would be a girl! :) Won't know for sure until late July or Aug.
Carlos' birthday party is this weekend. I haven't done much to prepare yet, I think I will start buying today. We have a lot of food to make before Fri night! Hopefully we get a good turn out! He has been doing really well on his weight loss and feels that he has achieved an appropriate weight so I am pleased to say that he is NOT going to shave his head! Sorry for all of you who really wanted to see that!
Sarah is taking a prenatal class and I went last time, it is going to be good for her!
We have some friends that we met when we lived in Utah going to school, the Chamber family. They have lived in Alabama these last several years and we have kept in touch. Well, they have moved to Richmond this week! We are so excited! It is going to be fun reuniting with them and our families getting to know each other. The only sad part is that they won't be in our ward! But I am glad that they will be in a ward with a LOT of young couples, lots of people to get to know!
Well that is about it. I would post pictures, but Carlos hooked our computer up to the TV and we were really excited about it, but it just isn't working right! So I am on his work computer and can't download things. Ok then.... :)

'Taking a Shower' translation

On most days, I don't get around to taking a shower until about 10am...sometimes later. If I have something to do that obviously changes. If the girls are playing in their room or already doing something when I need to take a shower, I try to just go and get it before they know. Because IF I tell them....this is what they do... In their heads "I need to take a shower"translation= OUR SHOWS!

My big/little girl

Miriam is getting so big and smart. Every day she is trying to be more and more like me, which sometimes scares me but other ways, I am very happy! She is always trying to teach Elaine things, but sometimes does it in a very lecturing way. :) She is also very helpful and is always interested in cleaning the bathroom counter, or helping me out around the house. I am not very good at letting her help because I just want to get it done but I will work on that! The most recent responsibility she has taken on is to be my 'nurse'. She said this morning that she is going to make sure that I always take my vitamin. She gave it to me, got me some water, and then stood there telling me it was just like a little pill and to just swallow it, until I did! LOL She is so cute!
Also, yesterday I was feeling really icky all day and so most of the day was me laying down and then watching something on TV. One of those things was Chipmunk Adventure. I went upstairs to talk on the phone and I came back down to the sound of someone crying. I thought for sure that Elaine had hurt Miriam, so I asked what happened. Miriam looked at me with sad eyes and I knew she wasn't hurt and quickly realized that the song about a baby penguin needing her mother had just finished and it is a sad and cute song. She was crying cause she needed her mommy!!! It made me chuckle and smile. I just gave her a big hug!! She certainly is emotional!
